At Teressa Foglia, we believe in lifting up other female artisans and their small businesses around the world. In the coming weeks, we will be featuring some of our favorite artists, business owners, and designers in our journal. Our first feature is one of our favorites, Spiritum Tulum!
Give us a quick background on who you are & what you do:
Spiritum Tulum is a sustainable Mexican brand created in 2015 by Rosana Lavergne Schnitman, born in Argentina and Mexican at heart. Rosana is from a family of textile manufacturers and an embroiderer grandmother, so she grew up surrounded by fabrics, threads and design.
What inspires you?
After traveling around the world for work for 20 years, Rosana found inspiration for the creation of the brand in Tulum. Spiritum Tulum makes fashion with a purpose, creating exclusive pieces, promoting local artisan production, and responsible consumption. We work with communities in the Mexican Mayan region, fusing traditional textiles with timeless modern designs. We promote a conscious and responsible consumption while respecting and caring for the people involved and our planet.
What’s your best advice for someone looking to start out on their own?
Always believe in yourself and in your project. With faith, discipline and consistency, you will find the way to success.
Thank you so much to Rosana and the team at Spiritum. Check them out on Instagram and online, or in person in their Tulum store at 10km, Carr. Tulum-Boca Paila, Tulum Beach.
