As we enter Fall, I started to reflect on my goals for the end of the year. One of them, is spending more time volunteering; and the other is discovering charitable organizations aligned with our companies ethos. This September, we are proud to have donated over $13,000 to a range of causes close to not only our hearts but to our friends and clients as well. Each month I look forward to using our platform as a place to share the work being done by extraordinary humans who are making a difference for our planet and others - and hope that it might inspire you to give back too. In honor of our friend Tinx’s birthday, we donated to Black Girls Code - an organization that reduces the opportunity divide for girls of color in tech. BGC builds pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.
In Malibu, a friend put us in touch with the animal rescue organization, Chiquita’s Friends, to be a part of their fundraising efforts. Chiquita’s Friends focuses on rescuing senior, special needs, and neglected dogs, and providing them with sanctuary and veterinarian care. The rescued dogs are then adopted out to suitable forever homes!
CASA Orange County annually serves approximately 800 children who move through our court system as a direct cause of abuse and neglect. CASA trains volunteers who advocate and mentor these children, representing their best interest in the courtroom and other settings.
The Loveland Foundation is an organization founded by Rachel Cargle that brings opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls. LF offers fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more in hopes of contributing to the empowerment and the liberation of the communities they serve.
We partnered with the new social networking app Intro Only to raise money for Children’s Hospital LA through their silent auction. CHLA is so much more than just a hospital - it is a place that builds hope and brighter futures. With experts who specialize in pediatric medicine + extensive research teams, CHLA is a place dedicated to betterment and care.
In Laguna Beach, we supported The Pacific Marine Mammal Center which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing marine mammals along the coast in Orange County. PMMC also educates on the importance of ocean stewardship through research, education + collaboration.
